Spiced Tones: A palette of warmth, imbued with sensation (Part 2)
November 29th Release
The Power of Contrast: Last week, we explored the palette of spiced tones, and this week, our focus shifts to the power of contrast within that palette. “Climbing the Walls,” a marker drawing, uses a bold combination of dark brown and bright orange to create a striking geometric pattern. The bold contrast between the two tones gives the piece a sense of power. Next, “True North,” an acrylic painting, takes us to a more ethereal part of the spectrum. The velvet-brown shadows frame a magnificent explosion of brilliant orange and amber, creating a deep sense of space and wonder. The small, scattered stars add tiny points of light to the dark background, further emphasizing the vast, luminous spectrum of color at the heart of the piece. Together, these pieces show how a powerful sense of solidity and strength can emerge from the interplay between light and dark tones. Where in your life have you seen the powerful interplay between light and dark?

Spiced Tones: A palette of warmth, imbued with sensation (Part 1)
November 22nd Release
The Spectrum of Sensation: This week, we begin our exploration with three acrylic paintings that delve into the full range of spiced tones, from deep, earthy browns to fiery oranges. “Solar Flare” offers a dynamic range of these colors, with cascading ribbons of ochre, burnt orange, and sienna spreading out from the center. Next, “Lost Illusion” presents a vibrant, abstract expression of the theme, with its palette of rich, spicy oranges, deep browns, and warm golden yellows creating a sense of energy and chaos. Finally, “Wax Vine Porcelain Flower” uses a more restrained, yet equally beautiful, range. Its warm, russet branches and golden-brown leaves stand out against a soft, pinkish background, demonstrating the subtle complexity of the palette. Together, these pieces show how a limited palette can create a wide variety of feelings. Which of these pieces most sparks a sensation in you?
