From the Ground Up: This week, we begin our journey with pieces that focus on the connection between the soil and the sky. We’re featuring two works that beautifully illustrate this concept. “Terra Firma Ascent,” marker drawing establishes a solid, earth-toned foundation with its grounded hills, which serve as a base for the expansive, patterned sky above. Your eyes are drawn upward to a realm of brilliant sunbeams and cascading raindrops, a visual journey from the ground to the heavens. Similarly, “Golden Solstice,” painted in acrylic, shows vibrant flowers firmly rooted in the soil, their stems confidently reaching toward the sky. The bright blue sky, with its cotton-candy clouds, completes the journey, capturing a moment where all of nature’s elements are in perfect harmony. What journey do these pieces inspire in you?
